Rice with cabbage meat sauce
Ingredients:
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 pound beef, cut into small pieces
1/2 head of cabbage, chopped
1 cup beef stock or water
5 tablespoon oil
2 cups washed rice
1 teaspoon persian allspice (Advieh)
1/2 teaspoon hot curry
1/2 teaspoon garam salama spice
1/4 teaspoon safferon
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Saute beef for few minutes in 1 tablespoon of oil. Add one cup beef
stock or water, bring to boil and cover. Saute the cabbage for
5-minutes in a 1-tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add to the meat
and cook for 25 minutes. Saute the onion in 1-tablespoon of oil till
goleden and add to the meat. Add the spices and let the water in the
meat to evaporate over low heat.
Bring 6-cups of water to boil. Add the rice and cook util almost done,
but still a little uncooked (aldente). strain the water. Put
2-tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pot. Alternate a thin layer of
rice and the meat and cabbage sauce. Cover and cook on low heat for
30-minutes. Serve with salad or torshi.
