Zucchini with ground beef
Ingredients:
3 medium zucchinis, cut with skin on lengthwise to 4-5 pieces
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, grated
1 teaspoon persian allspice (advieh)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1-2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Saute zucchinis in oil and set aside. Saute the onion mixed with the
ground beef, mixing continuously to avoid lumping until lightly browned.
Add allspice, turmeric, salt, papper and cook for 10 minutes. Mix garlic
with the meat and move to one side of the pan. Place zucchinis next to
the meat. Poor water over the meat. Cover loosely and cook for 30 minutes.
Serve with yogurt and hot french or pita bread.
